Einstein settles false billing claims it disclosed

Einstein Health Network agreed to repay Medicare $968,419 for improper billings it discovered by a cardiologist who used to work for the tax-exempt system, the U.S. Attorney's Office in Philadelphia said Friday.

Einstein voluntarily disclosed the the billings of services that were not needed or lacked sufficient documentation, resulting in overpayments to Einstein, the U.S. Attorney said.
