People on the Move: Aqua America taps new chief administrative officer

Aqua America Inc., Bryn Mawr, has hired Susan F. Haindl as chief administrative officer. She had been a vice president at Anexinet, a provider of digital business solutions, and prior to that was managing director, operations, for the Pew Charitable Trusts.

Univest Insurance, a subsidiary of Univest Bank & Trust Co., Souderton, has named Dennis Boyle senior vice president and employee-benefits practice leader. He had been vice president of sales for the eastern region at employee-benefits firm Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.

Bryn Mawr Bank Corp., parent of Bryn Mawr Trust Co., has named Noel Collins, Brian K. Snyder, and Roderick A. Ward as vice presidents and relationship managers. Collins had been vice president of business banking for Santander Bank in Villanova. Snyder had been vice president and relationship manager in commercial lending for National Penn Bank in Wyomissing, Pa. Ward had been vice president, commercial real estate, for DNB First in Downingtown.

Philadelphia-based Franklin Square Capital Partners, an alternative investment manager, has hired Lewis Katz as chief business development officer. He had been president of Blackboard Advisors, a management consulting firm he founded and founded Clamour. Previously, had been been head of asset management for 1798 Global Partners and Lombard Odier Asset Management.

Insurance industry veteran Stephen J. Johnson has joined Philadelphia law firm Stradley Ronon as an insurance financial and regulatory specialist. He had been deputy insurance commissioner for the Pennsylvania Insurance Department's Office of Corporate and Financial Regulation.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia has appointed James D. Narron first vice president and chief operating officer. Narron had been a senior vice president and product manager at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, where he led the Federal Reserve System's Cash Product Office. Narron succeeds D. Blake Prichard, who retired in February after more than four decades of service to the Federal Reserve System.

Abbas El-Sayed Abbas has been appointed thoracic surgeon-in-chief and surgical director of lung cancer, thoracic malignancy and foregut disease programs for Temple University Health System. He will continue as vice chair of thoracic medicine and surgery at the Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, director of foregut surgery program, section chief of thoracic surgery and associate professor of thoracic medicine and surgery.

Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia has named Paul Steinke executive director, effective in June. He replaces Caroline Boyce, who plans to establish a consultancy for nonprofit organizations. Steinke has served on the group's board for nearly two decades and was general manager of Reading Terminal Market. He had also been finance director for the Center City District and was the first executive director of the University City District. The alliance is a nonprofit that promotes the appreciation, protection, and revitalization of the Philadelphia region's historic buildings, communities and landscapes.

Bayer Corp., Whippany, has appointed Paul Capelli as vice president of communications for Bayer Consumer Health. Capelli had been vice president of corporate communications at QVC, Inc., West Chester. Capelli also spent time at CNBC, Amazon.com and Ketchum in various communications and public relations roles. He is a graduate of Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J.

Stanley J. Milavec Jr. has been hired as senior vice president, enterprise services, general counsel and corporate secretary at Tandigm Health, a West Conshohocken start-up designed to help primary-care doctors manage costs and improve care in Southeastern Pennsylvania. He had been a partner for Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney P.C. He also co-founded PlusCAD and CMC Matrix. Tandigm is a 50-50 joint venture between Independence Blue Cross and DaVita HealthCare Partners.

Brinker Simpson & Co., Philadelphia, has announced the following hires: F. Rocco Catalano, former senior accountant at Mallie L.L.P., has been named senior accountant; Nikey Essilfie, former senior accountant at Phillips & Co., Pasadena, Calif., has been named supervisor; and Sunil J. Patel, former staff accountant at Holganix, has been named staff accountant.

AMO Pharma Ltd., a privately held biopharmaceutical company with offices in London and Wayne, has named Joseph Horrigan chief medical officer. The company focuses on debilitating diseases with limited or no treatment options, Horrigan has more than two decades of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and as a pediatric neuropsychiatrist. Most recently he led clinical development programs in neurodevelopmental disorders at Neuren Pharmaceuticals Limited. He also co-founded and led the company-wide Medicines for Children Advisory Network at GlaxoSmithKline and served as assistant vice president and head of medical research at Autism Speaks. He holds a medical degree from University of Rochester and is a clinical associate professor at the University of North Carolina.

Additionally, the company named Alison McMorn as vice president of clinical operations and Bernard Kiernan as head of pharmaceutical sciences and manufacturing. McMorn had been director of clinical programs at Shire Pharmaceuticals. Kiernan had been director for product development in global pharmaceutical sciences at Shire Pharmaceuticals.

Doylestown-based BioClinica, a specialty clinical-trials services and technology provider, has hired Steven Herne as chief commercial officer and Francois Audibert as vice president for global consulting in its eHealth business segment. Herne will head Bioclinica eHealth Solutions across all three of its divisions. Herne was most recently chief commercial officer at ERT. Audibert will lead the global consulting practice, which specializes in data sciences, safety systems, and process. He also will head the life sciences big data strategy. Audibert, a 30-year industry veteran, had been vice president of pharmacovigilance at HighPoint Solutions, and prior to that, a safety-solutions director at Oracle.

Eisai Inc., the U.S. pharmaceutical subsidiary of Eisai Co., Ltd., research and development-based pharmaceutical company headquartered in Japan, has named Beyhan Zaim as vice president, commercial development and Alzheimer's disease global lead, neurology business group. In addition to her functional responsibilities, she has been appointed as a standing member of the Executive Committee for the Neurology Business Group.

Zaim come to Eisai from Pfizer, where she held a variety of posts encompassing business development, global marketing, strategic planning, and all aspects of commercial development. She also held a number of international assignments, including Asia Business Development Director based in Hong Kong and Country Manager of Thailand. In her most recent roles, she served as vice president of external opportunities and new business; vice president of commercial development primary care business unit; and vice president, medicine team leader.

Eisai Inc. has affiliates that includes research and development facilities in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as a global demand chain organization that includes facilities in Maryland and North Carolina.

Comcast Corp., Philadelphia, has promoted the following executives: Jon Friedman, to vice president, strategic and financial planning, from executive director; Ashton White, to vice president, strategic and financial planning, from executive director; Donald "Sandy" Aspinall, to vice president, global risk management, from executive director; John Demming, to vice president, corporate and financial communications, from executive director; Kirsten Siegel, to vice president, internal communications, from executive director; Ryan Wallach, to vice president, legal regulatory affairs and senior deputy general counsel, from executive director; Dominick Ciaraldi, to vice president, political affairs and community investment, from executive director, political affairs; and Michelle Singer, to vice president, corporate administration and political engagement, from executive director, political affairs.

Thomas J. Spearing, 3d has been named metropolitan New York office leader and senior vice president of HNTB Corp. Spearing has more than 25 years of project management experience throughout the United States and Latin America. He had been regional president (Americas) of Hill International's Project Management Group.

AccuWeather, the State College provider of weather information and digital media, has appointed Bill Boss as director of product development, display Systems and services. Boss has 30-years of experience in the meteorological industry working in sales, marketing, product management, and executive roles in the U.S. and Asia-Pacific region.  He had been director of product management for The Weather Company focusing on its partnership with IBM to bring advanced weather insights to business by utilizing big data and analytics. He also led the Weather Services International (WSI) product initiatives focused on decision support tools for airline pilots and solutions for large P&C insurers to help mitigate losses and improve catastrophe readiness. Prior to working with WSI, Boss was vice president and managing director Asia-Pacific for The Weather Company International.

 Janney Montgomery Scott L.L.C., a full service wealth management, financial services and investment banking firm headquartered in Philadelphia, has expanded its presence in the Midwest and Virginia marketplace with the opening of a new office in Cincinnati and Harrisonburg, Va.

The Mossbarger Deimling Moler Financial Strategies Group includes three financial advisors and two private client assistants, managing over $187 million in client assets. They joined the firm from Wells Fargo Advisors.

Members of the group include: Jeffrey A. Mossbarger, senior vice president /wealth management;      Drew G. Deimling, vice president/ wealth management; Christopher A. Moler, vice president / wealth management;  Lisa E. Willhoite, senior registered private client assistant; and  Lydia M. Armstrong, private client  assistant.

The Lantz & Gochenour Investment Group includes two financial advisors and two private client assistants, managing over $390 million in client assets, have also joined the firm in the Harrisonburg, Va. office from Wells Fargo Advisors. Members of the Lantz & Gochenour Investment Group include: Hugh J. Lantz, executive vice president/wealth management;  Michael C. Gochenour, vice president/wealth management;  Mary Aleshire, senior registered private client assistant; and         Jacqueline N. Blosser, private client assistant.

Univers Workplace Solutions, Hammonton, N.J., a provider of benefit communications and enrollment services, has hired Mike Parrott and Jack VanDusen as senior lead consultants.

Storeroom Solutions Inc., a Radnor provider of supply-chain management services, has hired Robert Larney as chief financial officer. Larney had served as interim CEO and CFO for Philadelphia-based CDI Corp. and as a plant cost accounting manager for FMC Corp., Industrial Chemicals Group.

Inder M. Singh has been hired as senior vice president and chief marketing and strategy officer at Blue Bell technology company Unisys Corp. Singh had been managing director at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, Inc., where he provided equity research and merger and acquisition advice across the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors. Prior to SunTrust, he served as a senior vice president for strategy and finance at Comcast.

Andrew Kucer  has been named executive director of Philadelphia nonprofit Students Run Philly Style, which combines mentoring adolescents with training for a half- or full-marathon to help boost academic success. He takes over from founding executive director Heather McDanel. Kucer helped launch a national nonprofit entity for the Michaels Organization and served as national director of philanthropy for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

TD Bank has named Kathleen B. Rosano as senior relationship manager in commercial banking, based in Devon. She had been senior relationship manager and team leader in business banking at Santander Bank in Villanova.

M&T Bank, Wilmington, has appointed Evan Pizzuto as assistant vice president and senior branch manager for the bank's Wilmington branch. Pizzuto formerly served as branch manager for the bank's Pike Creek branch.

Airgas, Inc., a Radnor supplier of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, and related product, said it had reorganized its South distribution region into two separate regions within the company's South Division. The redefined South Region will be headquartered in and the Southeast Region in Kennesaw, Ga. Kevin McBride, who led the South Region as president since 2014, has been named president of the new Southeast Region, which will cover northern Georgia, northern Alabama, Mississippi, and southern Tennessee.

Edwin Robertson, who has served as an area vice president in the South Region since 2007, has been named president of the new South Region. The redefined South Region will cover Florida, southern Georgia, southern Alabama, and southern Mississippi.

Reed Smith L.L.P. has appointed Ericson P. Kimbel as partner in the firm's global Energy & Natural Resources Industry Group (ENR), and Construction & Engineering team based in Pittsburgh. He had been partner at Burleson LLP in Pittsburgh which dissolved at the end of 2015. Kimbel has since provided service to his clients through Reed Smith, where he has served as counsel pending his appointment as partner.
 He has practiced in construction law almost exclusively for more than 16-years, representing large companies and multinational groups specializing in the nuclear, oil and gas, renewable energy, and pipeline industries.

Kimbel received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and his Bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Methodist University. He also received a Master's degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.

Penn National Gaming, Inc., Wyomissing said it has named Albert T. Britton as senior vice president of regional operations, effective May 16, 2016, subject to customary regulatory approvals. Britton currently serves as general manager of Penn National's Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races in West Virginia, a post he has held since September 2004.  Britton will have responsibility for the Midwest Region, which includes Penn National's operations in Missouri, Illinois, Kansas and Indiana. Britton began his career in 1981 with Claridge Casino Hotel in Atlantic City where he served in various management positions, including financial, operations, hotel management, marketing, administration and human resources and ultimately ascended to the position of president and chief operating officer.

Scott Saunders, currently general manager of Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg, will succeed Britton as general manager of Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, subject to regulatory approvals.

As part of this realignment, John Finamore, senior vice presidents of regional operations will oversee the Northeast Region, which includes properties in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Massachusetts, Maine and Ontario. Senior vice presidents of regional operations Ameet Patel will manage the South/West Region, which includes the Company's operations in Mississippi, New Mexico, Nevada and California.

Brad Hirsch has been hired as general manager for Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg, subject to regulatory approvals. He had been general manager of Harrah's Metropolis casino in Illinois.
