Temple exec to add hospital CEO duties

Verdi J. DiSesa will succeed John N. Kastanis as president and chief executive of Temple University Hospital on March 1, Temple University Health System announced Tuesday.

Verdi J. DiSesa will succeed John N. Kastanis as president and chief executive of Temple University Hospital on March 1, Temple University Health System announced Tuesday.

DiSesa, who has been at Temple since 2011, will remain chief operating officer of Temple's health system senior vice dean for clinical affairs in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.

Temple said last month that Kastanis was leaving to become CEO of University Hospital, in Newark, N.J., the primary teaching hospital for Rutgers University's New Jersey Medical School.
