Community College of Philadelphia said Mayor Nutter has appointed Clarence Armbrister, Rosalyn McPherson, and V. Steve Herzog to the college's board of trustees. Armbrister is president of Girard College, McPherson is president and CEO of the Urban League of Philadelphia, and Herzog is vice president of Strategic Planning for Philadelphia Energy Solutions.

Arthur P. Pasquarella has been elected chairman of the National Kidney Foundation. Pasquarella, who donated a kidney to his brother, is principal and chief operating officer of Equus Capital Partners Ltd.

Stradley Ronon associate Brandon Riley has been appointed to the associate board of City Year Philadelphia. The associate board fosters a network of diverse and action-oriented young professionals to advance the mission of City Year Philadelphia, which provides classroom and other support to help students stay in school.

The Philadelphia Public Relations Association has elected the following to its board of governors: Meredith Z. Avakian-Hardaway, director of communications and marketing for the Philadelphia Bar Association, president; Ashley Berke, director of communications for the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, president-elect; Christina Crews, communications director for the American Heart Association, vice president, external affairs; Nina Scimenes, marketing manager, Brulee Catering, vice president, programs; Adam Dvorin, media director at Winning Strategies, vice president, membership; Cari Feiler Bender, president of Relief Communications L.L.C., vice president, communications; Darren Behuniak, president and founder of Behuniak Presence Strategies Inc., treasurer; Bill Wedo, communications manager at Studio Incamminati, School for Contemporary Realist Art, secretary; and Lisette Bralow, president of VIN Partners L.L.C., chair. Also, Michael Cavacini, senior account executive at the Brownstein Group; Meredith Wertz, corporate communications manager at Comcast Corp.; and Gary Bramnick, director of marketing and public relations at Inglis, were named directors.

Bryant M. Greene, owner/administrator of Always Best Care Senior Services of Philadelphia, Bucks, and Delaware Counties, has been appointed to the board of trustees of Philadelphia University.

Joe Staiber, vice president of Melillo Consulting in Somerset, and chairman of Norristown-based Rotation Records, has been named to the board of trustees for the Kisses for Kyle Foundation. The Willow Grove nonprofit supports local families battling childhood cancer throughout the Delaware Valley.
