Harron died in 2005 of lung disease at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and was a longtime supporter of Penn's efforts to treat lung diseases, such as lung cancer, cystic fibrosis, and asthma.

The center, housed in the Ruth and Raymond Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine, brings together pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, pathologists, and radiologists in one location. - Harold Brubaker
