K'nex, the Hatfield maker of toys, has promoted Rachel Robbins to vice president, legal affairs and general counsel, from associate general counsel. She had been a partner in the commercial litigation group at Cozen O'Connor.

James S. Raphael has been appointed chairman of the Department of Orthopedics and director of the Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Program at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia. Raphael was associate chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and will continue as director of Einstein's Hand Surgery Program.

AnnMarie Papa has been appointed vice president and chief nursing officer at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. She had been clinical director for emergency, observation and medical nursing at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Elsie M. Maduro has joined Customers Bank, Wyomissing, as vice president/CRA mortgage officer. Maduro had been community reinvestment mortgage officer at the former Sovereign Bank.

Liz Brown has been promoted to chief operating officer of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, Philadelphia. Previously, she was director of information technology. Butler Buchanan III was named managing attorney of the firm's Philadelphia office. He is shareholder, hiring attorney, and chair of the law firm's Diversity Committee.

Kadir Erkmen has been appointed associate professor of neurosurgery at Temple University School of Medicine, and director of Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery and the Neurosurgery Residency Program at Temple University Hospital. Erkmen had been assistant professor of surgery and neurology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and surgical director of the Cerebrovascular and Stroke Program, director of Skull Base Surgery, and medical director of the Neuroscience Special Care Unit at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire.

TD Bank has hired Cyde N. Arcano as assistant vice president, store manager of a Philadelphia branch. He was a personal banker, licensed banker and a branch manager at Wells Fargo Bank in Norristown, King of Prussia, Plymouth Meeting, Chestnut Hill and South Philadelphia.

Presby's Inspired Life, a not-for-profit developer of continuing care and affordable housing for seniors based in Lafayette Hill, has hired Lynn Marie Johnson-Porter as vice president of philanthropy and mission support. She had been executive director of major gifts and clinical support at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation.

Carmen S. Italia Jr. has been named manager of the Delaware Valley office of Barry Isett & Associates Inc., a multi-discipline engineering firm in Phoenixville. He had been vice president with Continental Bank.

Cozen O'Connor, Philadelphia, said it has expanded its health-care practice group with the addition of R. Christopher Raphaely, who was previously deputy general counsel for the Jefferson Health System and general counsel to the system's accountable-care organization and captive professional liability insurance companies. He will be a resident in the firm's Philadelphia office and serve as co-chair of the practice group.
