Instacart launches Phila. same-day grocery delivery service

Instacart, a grocery delivery service first launched in San Francisco, said it began operating in Philadelphia, where customers can order items from Whole Foods for delivery in as little as one hour.

The company said it will add service from other stores in coming weeks.

The company utilizes a "crowdsourced labor force dubbed 'Personal Shoppers' who shop for and deliver grocery orders using their own vehicles," it said in a prepared statement. - Reid Kanaley
