Pending home sales down for Jan.

"The housing market is healing with sales fluctuating at times, depending on the flow of distressed properties coming on the market," said association chief economist Lawrence Yun.

Pending sales in the eight-county Philadelphia area in January rose 10.1 percent from December but were down 25.9 percent from January 2010, according to Prudential Fox & Roach HomExpert Report.    - Alan J. Heavens
