had been named to its board. U'Prichard is president of industry consultant Druid Consulting L.L.C. and a venture partner at the investment firm Red Abbey L.L.C. He also has been chief executive officer of 3-Dimensional Pharmaceuticals Inc., president and chairman of research and development at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals (the predecessor of GlaxoSmithKline P.L.C.), and executive vice president and international research director at Zeneca Pharmaceuticals.

The Schuylkill River Development Corp., a nonprofit organization that, with city, state, and federal agencies, is the lead agency in the development of the new Schuylkill Riverfront, has appointed the following members to its board:

Michael DiBeradinis is Philadelphia commissioner of parks and recreation and formerly secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Andrew C. Topping is senior vice president, human resources for Comcast Corp.

Karen Smith is a customer-care associate for Affiliated Computer Services Inc.

Michael A. Bukowski is general manager of Sunoco Inc.'s Philadelphia refinery.

Alan Greenberger is Philadelphia deputy mayor for planning and economic development and director of commerce, and a longtime professor of architecture at Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania.

Roosevelt Hairston Jr. is vice president and general counsel for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Sun Bancorp Inc., Vineland, has appointed Anthony R. Coscia and William J. Marino to its board. Coscia is a partner in the law firm Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf L.L.P., New York. Marino is chairman, president, and CEO of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.

Widener University president James T. Harris 3d has been elected vice president of the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities.

Steven D. Earhart has been reappointed treasurer and board member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Southeastern Pennsylvania, a nonprofit health-advocacy organization. He is partner at Devon Financial Partners L.L.C., Wayne.

Carlton L. Johnson has been appointed to the board of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia, the chapter of the international nonprofit housing-rehabilitation organization. Johnson is a partner in the Philadelphia office of Archer & Greiner P.C. and is cochairman of the firm's Civil Rights and Government Relations practice groups.

Waldron Mercy Academy, a Catholic coeducational, private elementary school sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy in Merion Station, has named James McGovern to its board of trustees. He is cofounder/managing director of Franklin Park Associates L.L.C.

Stella M. Tsai has been named second vice chairwoman of the Philadelphia Zoning Code Commission and chairwoman of the Commission's Civic Engagement Committee, which coordinates public outreach to reform and modernize Philadelphia's zoning code. Tsai is in the Philadelphia office of Archer & Greiner P.C.

Joseph M. Donley has been elected to serve on the Executive Committee of Thorp, Reed & Armstrong, L.L.P. He is partner-in-charge of the firm's Philadelphia office and leader of the firm's Insurance & Reinsurance practice group.

Richard S. Cohen has been appointed president of the national board of the Jewish National Fund. He is president of Clark & Cohen. David Dinenberg was named vice president of the national board and general campaign chair and poker tournament cochair. He is chief operating officer of Grasso Holdings. Alan Dabrow, owner of Chelten House, was named vice president of the national board.

The board of trustees for EducationWorks, a Lawrenceville educational nonprofit organization, has elected Lisa Dickson chairwoman. She is senior vice president at Radian Guaranty Inc. Stephan Roker, senior vice president of operations for Independence Blue Cross, was named vice chairman. John D. White has been named to the board. He is a financial adviser at Principal Financial Group Inc.

Gesu School, an independent Catholic school in North Philadelphia, has appointed J. Gordon Cooney Jr. to its board of trustees. He is a litigator and managing partner of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius L.L.P.' Philadelphia office.

Associated Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, a nonprofit organization serving the blind and visually impaired, has elected Francis R. Grebe as chairman. He recently retired from his position as executive vice president of Pennsylvania Trust Co.

Daniel Q. Harrington has been appointed to the District IV Ethics Committee by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. The committee, which serves Camden and Gloucester Counties, investigates and prosecutes ethics grievances and refers serious complaints to the State Office of Attorney Ethics. Harrington is cochair of Cozen O'Connor's Professional Responsibility Committee and a member of the firm's Professional Liability Committee.

Matthew H. Haverstick has been appointed to serve as a cochairman of the ABA Criminal Justice Section White Collar Crime Committee, Computer Crime, Intellectual Property and Trade Secrets Subcommittee. He is a shareholder at Conrad O'Brien P.C., Philadelphia.

Stephen Rosen, a senior consultant and founder of Stephen H. Rosen & Associates Inc., Haddonfield, has been named secretary of the American Academy of Actuaries' board of directors.

ACHIEVEability, a nonprofit human-services organization in West Philadelphia, has appointed four new board members:

Thomas Flippen is vice president of sales, East at Wyeth.

Cheryl Staab Friedman is working toward her M.B.A. in Entrepreneurial Management and Marketing and is founder and president of the dog-walking company Dogcentric Inc.

Michael Leonard is vice president of academic advancement at Peirce College.

Brenda Whiting is a classroom aide for the Philadelphia School District and a current client of ACHIEVEability.

The Wistar Institute, a Philadelphia independent nonprofit biomedical research institute founded in 1892, has named Vincent Price and Edward Ziff to its board of trustees. Price is provost of the University of Pennsylvania and the Steven H. Chaffee Professor of Communication at the Annenberg School for Communication. Ziff is a professor of biochemistry and neural science at New York University, where he is also an adjunct professor of biology and an affiliate at the Center for Neural Science. - Mike Zebe
