United, Continental complete merger

United and Continental completed their merger at the corporate level today, becoming the world's largest airline. Here's the basic story from the AP. The operations will be merged more slowly, as will the workforces of the two carriers. Just yesterday, Continental and its flight attendants' union said they had reached a tentative agreement on a new contract.
