How would you fix U.S. air travel?

A provocative column appeared last week in USA Today seeking ideas to improve air travel, and I hope it will spawn some ideas from my readers, too. As columnist Bill McGee points out, opinions vary widely depending on what part of the travel business one is involved in, either as a customer or an industry player. As you can see from comments added to the column soon after it was published, travelers have their own, sometimes unrealistic, ideas about what to do.
