US Airways cuts airport jobs, but not at PHL

US Airways is cutting its airport workforce in several cities, but none of them are its hubs at PHL, Charlotte or Phoenix. Here's what was reported this morning in an Inquirer business brief:

US Airways is furloughing 233 bag handlers, ticket and customer-service agents next month at 10 airports, including Pittsburgh, Las Vegas, Nev., and Tucson, Ariz. Philadelphia is not affected, said US Airways spokesman Morgan Durrant. Employees will be offered jobs at other US Airways airports, should they choose to relocate.
