Storms: Here they come again

Another nasty batch of thunderstorms in progress or on the way.

It would be hard to upstage yesterday's fireworks in Northeast Philadelphia, but a fresh batch of storms has gathered along the Delaware River near the Pennsylvania-Delaware border and was nudging northward.

You'll see some fairly impressive images on radar. The entire region is under a severe-thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m., and the fact that sun was out for a few hours isn't going to help.

With the atmosphere unstable, the sun's warmth becomes a source for manufacturing the mischievous rising currents that result in water vapor condensing into pouring rain.

The isolated thunderstorms now heading north are expected to affect a corridor on both sides of the river from Philadelphia on up to Berks County.
