The winner will be invited to the final judging event March 18.  Employees of Interstate General Media and their family members are ineligible for this prize.

The nomination period is Feb. 20 to midnight on March 11. On March 13, the three finalists with the most overall nominations will be announced in the “V for Veg” column in the Daily News.

Each finalist will agree to submit two vegan sandwiches for the judging event. In case of non-agreement, the nominee with the next-highest number of votes will take that finalist’s spot.

On March 13 an online poll will launch on Philly.com, asking site users to vote among the three finalists. The winner of this poll, as of noon on March 18, will be named the “People’s Choice” winner for the contest.

FINAL JUDGING

The winner will be chosen from among the three finalists in a blind taste test at Grindcore House Café, 1515 S. 4th Street, on Tuesday, March 18 at 3 p.m. Judges are: Jonathan Bagot, Takia McClendon, Frank Olivieri Jr., and Christina Pirello.

Each judge will pick a first, 2nd and 3rd place winner, and their votes will be tallied to pick the final winners. In the case of a tie, the prize will go to whoever had the higher number of People’s Choice votes.
