Will Smith gets jiggy with first new track in 10 years

Philly's own Will Smith has released his first song in about a decade, teaming up with Colombian group Bomba Estéreo for a remix of their track, "Fiesta."

Smith contributes a few verses to the extended version of the track, which serves as his first official song since 2005's "Switch," from Lost & Found. The song features a mixture of Latin funk, electronic music, and flamenco guitar for an eclectic mix, while the lyrics themselves, however, are strictly party-oriented.

Smith begins his feature by asking a "mamacita" to "go get me a beer-a." He later goes on to explain his appearance on the "Fiesta" remix, which is not to be confused with Smith's own 1999 track "La Fiesta":

This track is a heater
Couldn't let the beat
Go by without a feature

"When I was told that Will Smith wanted to collaborate on a remix with Bomba, I couldn't believe it," Simon Mejia said of Smith's appearance via a statement. "This opportuniy to work with Will was beyond anything we have dreamed of… It's just magic."

Or, at the very least, it's different. Back in the late 90s, Smith famously rejected using foul language in his tracks, explaining on 1999's Willenium that his grandmother gave him that advice before her death. Now, though, things appear a little different:

Cause it's hot s--- only
You know me, OG
High class and low key

In the grand scheme, not shocking. For Will Smith, though? Almost unheard of in terms of his music career. But, hey, the guy is 47 years old, so it was bound to happen sometime, and at least Eminem would be proud.

Smith's appearance here may also be another sign that he's been plotting a return to the music business out of his semi-retirement. In February this year, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star revealed that he has recorded "seven or eight" tracks with Kanye West. That same month, Smith also stopped by Ellen to perform his 1991 hit, "Summertime," as well as the Fresh Prince theme:
