Watch: 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' trailer released

After weeks of anticipation, J.J. Abrams has delivered on his promise to give us a sneak peak at the seventh episode of the Star Wars saga in the form of an epic teaser. Finally, it has arrived.

Dubbed Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Abrams' entry into George Lucas' Star Wars universe won't actually come out for about a year, but rabid fans have already seized upon the film, watching its development with a critical eye. They got their first full-on glimpse of Episode VII last night, when the trailer made its debut in select areas — Philly included. Though, despite that glimpse, the fervor likely won't subside.

Trailer aside, though, we do know that Abrams' Star Wars entry will feature original cast members Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill, along with new cast members such as Lupita Nyong'o, Andy Serkis, Daisy Ridley, and Oscar Isaac.

However, we've still got to wait until Dec. 15, 2015 to see them all in action. Sit tight until then.
