Someone glued razor blades to a playground and hurt a toddler

Ugh. In case you needed a reminder that the world is a terrible place and people are the worst, someone in Illinois glued a bunch of razor blades to a playground and at least one toddler was hurt.

Authorities were alerted to a situation at East Moline park after a toddler cut his hand on a piece of playground equipment on March 24th.

Authorities in East Moline say they found around a dozen razor blades glued to playground equipment this afternoon at Millennium Park on Archer Drive in East Moline. Police say a two-year-old child was injured with a cut on his hand.

"I've seen a lot of things, but not razor blades glued to equipment at a park," said Lieutenant Brian Foltz, who has been with the East Moline Police Department for almost 20 years.

The razor blades were attached with a putty-like substance. Police have no suspects, but have checked other parks nearby for similar acts of vandalism and didn't find any other dangerously booby-trapped playgrounds.

Photos of the injured child's hand and the rigged playground equipment have been making the rounds on Facebook, as people take time out of their busy lives to contemplate the amazing extent to which people can suck. [KWQC]
