Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo, and the Battle That Defined a Generation is the forthcoming book detailing the competition between the premiere gaming consoles of the 1990s. It isn't even on shelves yet and stoner nerd extraordinaire Seth Rogen is already making a movie about it.

Rogen and his frequent collaborator Evan Goldberg will team up, again, to tackle the tale offered in Blake Harris' book, which hits shelves (or Amazon.com or whatever) on May 13th.

Goldberg and Rogen will write and direct the project for Sony pictures.

Sony Pictures and Scott Rudin (Moneyball, The Social Network) are developing Console Wars as a feature film to be directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Knocked Up, Superbad). Rogen and Goldberg are also writing the screenplay. Harris is serving as Executive Producer, and is also co-directing a documentary on the same subject, with Rudin, Rogen and Goldberg producing as well. [IGN]
