Back in the 1980s, superstar Samuel L. Jackson worked as a rehearsal stand-in for Bill Cosby on the The Cosby Show for a number of years. Now, with that history in mind, he has weighed in on the sexual assault allegations facing his former co-worker.

"I wish he would say something," Jackson said on Thursday's episode of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live. "But, I mean, I can't make a judgment about it. I mean, I make my judgments because I have a daughter, I have a wife that I love. I have a lot of women in my life, and I know, you know, women are vulnerable to society. And people with power take advantage of people."

To date, more than 30 women have come forward to accuse Cosby of sexual assault since November of last year. Cosby, for his part, has denied the allegations through reps and continued on through a live comedy tour.

"Popular opinion would say, 'Where there's smoke, there's fire,'" Jackson said on Thursday.

Earlier this week, Cosby thanked fellow comedian Eddie Murphy for refusing to play him in a sketch on Saturday Night Live's 40th anniverary episode. Similarly, Cosby has publicly thanked celebrity supporters via social media for defending him.
