New Hampshire PD issues arrest warrant for Punxsutawney Phil

Punxsutawney Phil’s weather prediction has landed the groundhog in hot (or rather, freezing) water in New Hampshire.

Punxsutawney Phil's weather prediction has landed the groundhog in hot (or rather, freezing) water in New Hampshire.

In light of the extreme winter the north is having, the Merrimack Police Department of Merrimack, N.H. has issued a warrant for Punxsutawney's arrest.

"[Punxsutawney Phil] told several people that winter would last six more weeks, however, he failed to disclose that it would consist of mountains of snow," read a post on the police department's Facebook page. "If you see him, do not approach him as he is armed and dangerous," the post continues.

Maybe not armed, but groundhogs are known to be dangerous. Just ask the mayor of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, who got chomped on the ear by one during the town's Groundhog Day ceremony.
