Chaperone allegedly assaults girl at PA homecoming over too much rap music

A 43-year-old woman was chaperoning the homecoming dance at Springdale Junior/Senior High School when she reportedly had had enough of all of that rap music that the kids are listening to, these days. Investigators say that the woman was upset at the DJ's insistence on playing rap songs, so she chased the girl who hired him into the bathroom and assaulted her.

A 43-year-old woman was chaperoning the homecoming dance at Springdale Junior/Senior High School when she reportedly had had enough of all of that rap music that the kids are listening to these days. Investigators say that the woman was upset at the DJ's insistence on playing rap songs, so she allegedly chased the girl who hired him into the bathroom and assaulted her.

A student at the school told Channel 11's Timyka Artist that the situation escalated when the mother went after the student who hired the disc jockey.

According to court documents, the girl ran "into the bathroom to get away from the situation. The suspect followed then grabbed the victim by the arm."

An Allegheny Valley School District representative released a statement to the press.

Officials take this situation very seriously. We will wait for the outcome of the investigation and respond in the best interest of student safety. In the meantime, the district continues to review practices for parent-sponsored and school-sponsored events. [WPXI]
