Even the City of Philadelphia is getting geared up for Temple's big game day on Saturday. While the underdog football team is 7-0 and set to face its biggest opponent to date, Notre Dame, Temple's more famous Owls are rooting for their alma mater.

On Wednesday, the dean of Temple's School of Communications, David Boardman, posted a video message from DJ, producer and Temple alum Diplo.

"I want you guys to beat Notre Dame's behinds this weekend," he says.

He's not a former Temple Owl, but Wolf Blitzer was at Temple on Thursday to accept the Lew Klein Award from the university's communication school.

The CNN anchor got in on the college football mania, saying, "I'm so honored…to be here. Especially on the eve of a huge win over Notre Dame University."

During his award acceptance and chat with the audience, Blitzer was joined by Temple alumnus Paxton Baker, the executive vice president of Centric television network. When Blitzer asked him who he had winning the showdown at the Linc, Baker knew what to say.

Hall & Oates member John Oates met his bandmate while studying at Temple. He can hardly contain his excitement for the game, writing on Facebook, "I just got off a phone interview with Philadelphia's Sports Radio 97.5 the Fanatic talking about the big college football game this Saturday night between my old alma mater unbeaten Temple University against Notre Dame...gonna be the featured game on ABC TV...and who did they get on the phone with me? Regis Philbin ex Notre Dame alum. We had a great chat and made a bet for dinner in NY...Loser pays...can't wait for Saturday Night!"

And, utilizing Twitter's new poll-creating feature, "Steve Jobs" actor and Temple alum Adam Shapiro asked the important questions.

Temple University is set to play Notre Dame at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 8 p.m. The game will be shown on cable television on NBC and locally on 6ABC.
