Don Lemon’s Amtrak Train 188 coverage from Philly inspires outrage — over a denim jacket

Philly locals spotted Lemon, a former NBC10 anchor, fairly early on in the evening, tweeting out a photo showing him toying on his phone between segments. And, initially, the response to his wardrobe was flattering:

However, as coverage dragged on, more and more Tweets from the fashion police began to roll in:

Then, things got a little more indignant:

Followed by downright absurd:

All things considered, it would seem that sound fashion sense would indicate one should err on the side of not wearing casual clothing to cover a tragedy on-air — especially when a number of one's guests are appearing in an official capacity on the matter. And, you know, wearing suits. Still, though, here we are.

But at least the city seems to have taken Lemon as seriously as he took his coverage of the Amtrak 188 crash, as evidenced by this young man's sweet wheelie:
