Bryan Cranston reads former Rutgers professor's 'You Have to F---ing Eat'

The last time we heard former Rutgers professor Adam Mansbach's words come to life, it was through Samuel L. Jackson's narration of the 2011 satire, Go the F--k to Sleep. Now, we're getting a second chance with the sequel, You Have to F---ing Eat'—and this time, Bryan Cranston is doing the reading.

The last time we heard former Rutgers professor Adam Mansbach's words come to life, it was through Samuel L. Jackson's narration of the 2011 satire, Go the F--k to Sleep.

Now, we're getting a second chance with the sequel, You Have to F---ing Eat—and this time, Bryan Cranston is doing the reading.

Mansbach's Go the F--k to Sleep landed at the top of the New York Times Best Sellers list shortly after its release, earning translations in more than 30 languages. With that success in mind, Mansbach set out to conquer the sequel to his first hit. He ended up with You Have to F---ing Eat, which came out today via Akashic Books.

NJ.com recently spoke with Mansbach about the book, with the author saying that he "couldn't be happier" with Cranston's take on his newest endeavor:

Another celebrated actor, Bryan Cranston, is Mansbach's pick for the follow-up, "You Have to F---ing Eat" (hear his rendition in the first clip above). A plum choice, considering he played two of the most beloved father figures on television — the exhausted Hal Wilkerson from "Malcolm in the Middle," and the dark, indefatigable Walter White from "Breaking Bad." (British comic Stephen Fry narrates the UK version.)

"It's phenomenal," Mansbach said, minutes after listening to Cranston's take, available for download today (free this month). "I couldn't be happier with it. He killed it, as I knew he would."

Indeed, "killed it" is probably an accurate description. Check out some of Cranston's narration below. But, of course, be warned—the clip contains foul language:
