LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Not everyone found Burger King's latest commercial funny.

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Not everyone found Burger King's latest commercial funny.

Comedian Billy Eichner's friends and fans, as well as the funny man himself, took to social media after the fast-food chain aired a commercial during Sunday Night Football that resembled the format of Eichner's comedy routine.

Eichner, who appears on NBC's "Parks and Recreation," is also known for his Funny or Die and Fuse TV series "Billy on the Street," where he can be found chasing down New Yorkers to ask them pop culture-related questions and screaming at them. In Burger King's commercial, a man with similar dark brown hair goes up to two pedestrian and asks them random questions before blurting out the answer.

Eichner responded to the commercial by tweeting, "Hey @BurgerKing- thanks for stealing my act for ur new commercial!!"

Others supported Eichner via Twitter:

Eichner closed the social media beef with a reference to one of his other gigs: his guest-starring role on Fox's "Bob's Burgers" last year.
