The 2012 Gathering of the Juggalos Festival boasts their biggest and best lineup to date
Curated by Psychopathic Records and the Insane Clown Posse, the 13th Gathering of the Juggalos features some of the biggest rap stars from the last 20 years. Aug 8th-12th is going to be an interesting 5 days.
While the idea of thousands of face painted, mosh pitting "Juggalos" may frighten you, you have to admire the lineup that the 2012 Gathering of the Juggalos Festival has put together. In case you don't know what a Juggalo is, it is essentially someone who is a fan of the notorious Insane Clown Posse, a rap group formed in 1989. The Gathering of the Juggalos Festival was started in 2000, and has featured some of the foremost names in hip hop, rap, comedy, and countless other genres of entertainment.
This year is arguably the biggest lineup GOTJ has put together. Any festival that can bring Three 6 Mafia, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Master P, DMX, The Game, Tech N9ne, and the Kottonmouth Kings together is impressive. However if a festival can reunite The Geto Boys after years apart, that is truly something special. Having included rappers from the 80's and 90's in the past, Gathering of the Juggalos has become a staple in the the summer festival circuit.
While the Gathering of the Juggalos Festival has been parodied by the likes of Saturday Night Live and Workaholics, it has gained enough notoriety to draw thousands to it time and time again. It is also the only festival that runs 24 hours a day. With so much time, countless activities and events are offered to attendees. Wrestling spectacles, seminars, autograph signings, free carnival rides, wet t-shirt competetions, karaoke contest, tattoo contests, open mics, a Miss Juggalette Competition, and much more highlight this 5 day extravaganza. This festival certainly isn't for everyone, but if you're looking to knock something off your bucket list, this may be the festival check out.
