A handy guide to what’s going on today.

A handy guide to what's going on today.

For a morning screening; Get your 10 a.m. dose of film history at the Bryn Mawr Film Institute (824 W. Lancaster Ave.) during Talk Cinema. See yet unreleased independent films and hear discussions with critics, filmmakers and cinema experts.

For shoppers: Century 21 (821 Market St.), the new discount designer retailer just rolled out their designer vintage discount shop, LXR&CO. Look out for exclusive vintage finds from big name designers like Louis Vuitton, Prada and Gucci for marked-down prices. The store is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today.

For a cultural craft: Here's the plan — kids ages eight to 14 will design a "manga" character (basically a fictional cartoon character) where it will then be placed into shrinkable plastic and then into a mason jar. Dubbed as a Manga Lantern, the whole deal goes down at Shofuso Japanese House (Horticultural and Lansdowne Drives) at 11 a.m.

For another: During Second Sunday at the Penn Museum (3260 South St.) hone your paper puppet-making skills during a Chinese Dragon Puppet activity between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Also take a guided tour of the museum's China Gallery, departing from Pepper Hall at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

For a spot of tea: Warm up on this cold weekend with a hot cup of tea at 3 p.m. at the Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation (321 Cedar St., Bristol, Pa.) right along the waterfront.
