Gay to do: Sand Blast 2015

The raucous and wild Sand Blast returns to Atlantic City this weekend.

The raucous and wild Sand Blast returns to Atlantic City this weekend. Gays will flock to the seaside resort to soak up all the beach, booze and boys for three days of events. In anticipation of the party's return to Atlantic City, we've put together this field guide to help you get the most out of your queer down-the-shore antics.

If you are looking to host a hook-up or two while you're there, you are going to need a place to stay. The Claridge Hotel is the host hotel but has already sold out their block of Sand Blast rooms. You may be able to get a room at the luxury host, Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa. Use promo code Sand for a discount. If you're on a budget, then check out Hotwire for last-minute listings.

Friday

Avoid traffic and take the NJ Transit train that departs from 30th Street Station and locations in South Jersey.

Even if you aren't staying there for the weekend, stop by The Claridge at 7 p.m. for a welcoming reception and to pick up your passes for the next few days. After that, head over to Philly transplant Buddakan for dinner. Sit at the upstairs bar that is tucked away from the craziness of the main dining room.

Kick off the weekend's partying right at Lost At Sea, Sand Blast's first dance party at 10 p.m. at Borgata's Mixx Nightclub. High-energy beats from Montreal's Alain Jackinsky will wash over you at this can't miss event.

Later - with a good dose of liquid courage - make your way back over to The Claridge for the Raw Underwear Party that begins at 2 a.m. With porn stars Maverick Men and a "check your clothes at the door" policy," you know things are bound to get dirty.

Saturday

Bring last night's trick to the rooftop pool at Bally's for an all-day Rip Tide pool party beginning at 11 a.m. New York's DJ Dawson and Barcelona's Dani Toro spin. If the pool ain't your scene, then head down to the official gay beach at Park Place and Boardwalk for a dip.

Dry off from the pool and take a quick disco nap. Then, grab a bite at Borgata's Wolfgang Puck American Grille or Izakaya Modern Japanese Pub. After that, catch queer comedy queen Margaret Cho. Cho is bringing her Psycho Tour to The Music Box for one night only. Sand Blast guests have access to Borgata's Golden Circle Tickets, which are in the front of venue. Show begins at 9 p.m.

Once you recover from the belly laughs with Miss Cho, head over to Saturday's main event Deep Blue at Resorts Casino and Hotel. After, there is a late night soiree at The Claridge Pool.

Sunday

Start the day off right with a bloody at brunch at Continental Midtown Atlantic City. For a good base to your day drinking, order the monkey bread. You will thank us later.

At 11:30 a.m, Philadelphia's own Brittany Lynn is hosting the fourth annual Miss D'America Drag Race and Handbag Toss, where drag queens actually race down the beach at California Avenue.

The weekend's main event, the Sand Blast Beach Party, was moved to Sunday this year. Hopefully the date change won't deter party-goers from attending this massive dance party at the water's edge. The fun begins down at Bungalow Beach at noon with DJs Mike Reimer and Phil Romano spinning. The party rages until just before sunset.

Good luck getting back to reality after all that fun. Just remember, what happens in Atlantic City stays in Atlantic City.
