Five things to do today – pickling, Science After Hours, benefit screening

What a spectacular view.

What a spectacular view.

For a constitutional chat: A lecture like you've never heard before, legal scholar Richard A. Epstein delves deep into the Constitution and gives audiences his interpretation at 6:30 p.m. at the National Constitution Center (525 Arch St.).

For adults only: The Franklin Institute (222 N. 20th St.) wants you to leave the kids at home for an after-hours look at the exhibits and cocktail party from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. They'll also be paying homage to three great inventions: The telephone, the train and the root beer float.

For a variety: If pickling one way just doesn't suit your fancy, learn two ways to make pickles (refrigerated and preserved) at 7 p.m. tonight at the Chestnut Hill Friends Meetinghouse (20 E. Mermaid Lane).

For an opening night: "Rounding Third," what you get when you mix the "Odd Couple" with little league, opens tonight at 7 p.m. at Act II Playhouse (56 E. Butler Ave.) in Ambler, Pa. The play centers around two coaches: One who knows his stuff and one that kind of doesn't.

For a good cause: Eflixir.com and the Philadelphia Film Society are partnering with Mind Your Mind and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for a benefit screening of Robin Williams film, "The Fisher King" at the Perelman Theater at the Kimmel Center (300 S. Broad St.) starting at 7:30 p.m.
