Five things to do today – date night, Bacon Fest, night at the museum

Hooray for Friday!

Hooray for Friday!

For bacon lovers: Have you heard the word? In case you haven't: it's bacon. From 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., enjoy free (!) bacon, food trucks, music from DJ Apt One & lil'Dave, bacon cooking demo, a screening of Apollo 13 (Kevin Bacon — duh) and more at The Oval on the Parkway during Philadelphia Bacon Fest.

For a First Friday event: As a part of the Phreaq N Queer Music and Arts Festival (running until Sunday), Space 2033 in Fishtown will host a First Friday affair with readings from performance artists and physical work shown within the gallery from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

For a date night: Philadelphia's Magic Gardens wants you to treat your sweetie tonight during one of their Deluxe Date Night sessions. At either 6 p.m. or 7:30 p.m., take a tour of the South Street space, enjoy an art activity and grub on bites from Di Bruno Brothers.

For a reality show-worthy performance: Singer and reality show star Keyshia Cole delves into the nitty gritty of motherhood, love and life on her latest album. She belts it all out tonight on South Street at the TLA. Doors open at 8 p.m.

For a kids' night out: Recreate Night at the Museum at the Delaware Museum of Natural History tonight starting at 8:30 p.m. for a sleepover at the Greenville, De. museum featuring a campfire and campout in the museum's galleries. Remember to bring your own sleep gear and all children must have an accompanying adult. The event ends at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning.
