Five things to do today – burlesque, nighttime photography, firefly frolic

What are you doing today?

What are you doing today?

For a solstice party: It's almost time for, arguably, the best season. The Riverbend Environmental Education Center in Gladwyne, PA will lead partiers in a pond exploration, music, games and more from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

For sibling rivalry: Siblings, dancers and cast members from Dancing with the Stars Julianne and Derek Hough will dance their way to the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA for a complete stage production with a traveling company. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

For a nighttime photo shoot: Photograph the Laurel Hill Cemetery after dark using only your camera and a flashlight. The session starts at 8 p.m. at the gate of the Ridge Avenue-situated cemetery.

For a lightning bug frolic: Head to Peace Valley Nature Center and search for fireflies in the Doylestown, PA landscape at 8:30 p.m.

For an anniversary: Rasputin's Room, the monthly burlesque show at Ruba Club (on Green Street between Spring Garden and Fairmount) is celebrating it's one year anniversary. Doors are at 9 p.m. and the show starts one hour following.
