Five things to do today – Mt. Airy Village Fair, fundraiser, closing night

Take a deep breath and go free.

Take a deep breath and go free.

For collectors: Over 50 stamp and coin dealers will share their goods at the Stamp and Coin Show at Aetna Fire Hall (400 Ogletown Rd., Newark) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For a fair: Residents of Mt. Airy and beyond will flock to Greene St. and Carpenter Lane West, otherwise known as "Mt. Airy Village" for a day of hands-on learning. The Mt. Airy Village Fair invites the community to teach others various tricks and trades from beer brewing to yo-yo. Other activities include a pet pageant, pie eating contest, circus activities and music. Get there between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

For a fundraiser: Food, drinks, live music and silent auction (including a signed script from ABC's "Scandal") are on tap for Jessie's Day, a benefit fundraiser supporting scholarships for college-bound recipients of organ transplants. It runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at Urban Saloon (2120 Fairmount Ave.).

For a celebration: Raise your voice along with Rev. Dr. Alyn E. Waller, Brockington Ensemble and more ground-shaking, celebratory musicians at the Philadelphia Celebration of Gospel at the Mann Center (5201 Parkside Ave.) at 4 p.m. today.

For closing night: The curtains close on the Philadelphia run of "The Book of Mormon," the highly satirical, laugh-out-loud musical where two Mormon missionaries are sent to Uganda to spread the word. It plays today at the Forrest Theatre (1114 Walnut St.) at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
