Enjoy fall-themed festivities at The Oval

Celebrate The Oval's final pop-up weekend with a list of fall-themed events with live performances, music, food, fun and much more!

Although summer is over, outdoor fall festivals are popping up city-wide every weekend. The Oval, Philadelphia's pop up park on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, is celebrating its successful inaugural summer by reopening one last time for a fall-themed weekend of events kicking off Thursday, October 10 through Sunday, October, 13.

Every day during the park's final pop-up weekend, you can partake in variety of family-friendly events all day long. This includes live performances, delicious local food trucks and vendors and loads of fun activities.

Thursday, October 10

PHAIR Market, 5 p.m.-11 p.m.

Kick off the weekend by browsing over 40 vendors at the Philadelphia Open Air Market (PHAIR) while enjoying music provided by The Magic Message.

Food trucks that will be on site: Zea May's Kitchen, Guerrilla Ultima, Street Food Philly, Cow and the Curd, and Cupcake Carnivale.

UPDATE: PHAIR has been cancelled due to the weather. It will resume on Saturday at 23rd & Arch streets for the weekly market.

Friday, October 11

Food Truck Cinema, 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Fill your Friday night with seasonal food and a free fall flick! Starting at 8 p.m., The Oval will showcase an outdoor screening of October Sky. Prior to the screening, from 6-8p.m., the Philadelphia Film Festival will conduct a unique stop motion animation workshop while the Franklin Institute will offer its make-n-take star wheels activity.

Food trucks that will be on site: Mini Trini, Lil Dans, Foo, Mucho Bueno, and Sweet Box Cupcakes.

Saturday, October 12

Fall Festivities, 12 p.m.-4 p.m.

Enjoy a Saturday filled with fall festivities from pumpkin painting to hay rides, and even a live petting zoo! Quench your thirst with freshly pressed apple cider while listening to live entertainment by the bluegrass band, The Highwater Preachers.

Food trucks that will be on site: Surf and Turf, Local 215, Delicias, and the SouperVan.

Costume Party, 4 p.m.-9 p.m.

Children and adults of all ages are invited to show off their favorite Halloween costume for the chance to win the best dressed award while parading around The Oval to the area's top DJs, DJ Apt One and DJ Bruce.

Food trucks that will be on site: Surf and Turf, Local 215, Delicias, and the SouperVan.

Sunday, October 12

Farewell Festivities, 12 p.m. - 7p.m.

BEN FM will be on site playing tunes as we hold one last celebration at The Oval.

Food trucks that will be on site: Lil Dans, Mucho Bueno, and Pitruco.

Additionally, you can enjoy ongoing free park activities at The Oval that include over sized chess, checkers and chalkboard, a bean bag toss, and bocce ball.

Following this weekend, The Awesome Fest will transform The Oval into a drive-in movie theater in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the American culture icon. This Drive-In Movie experience includes double features that will begin October 18 and run every Friday until November 22. Screenings include The Grease/The Blob, King Kong vs. Godzilla/Pacific Rim.
