Last year, Sheikh’s Divine Lorraine Hotel collection brought a pop-up shop to the building’s lobby, and allowed attendees to walk the dilapidated structure’s halls. Thousands of folks turned out, but a significant number of people were turned away due to the event’s permit restrictions.
However, on Wednesday, May 11 from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., they’re doing it all over again. And with permits that allow for double the occupancy of last year’s pop-up, attendees can expect quicker lines, as well as a greater likelihood that everyone who makes it out will get inside.
Sheikh’s updated Divine Lorraine collection of clothing and housewares will also be released in conjunction with the coming lobby tour. As with last year’s event, 10 percent of the evening’s proceeds will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region.
For those interested, the Divine Lorraine’s leasing crew will also be on hand to accept rental applications for when the building’s residential units are completed. There is a $50 fee to apply, and developers expect the reconstruction to be complete by March 2017.
