Artists’ instructions performed live for Moore’s ‘do it’ exhibit

Since mid-September, the “exhibition in progress,” “do it,” a display based entirely upon local artists’ interpretation of other artists’ written instructions, has been presented at The Galleries At Moore (20th St. and the Parkway). Since mid-September, the "exhibition in progress," "do it," a display based entirely upon local artists' interpretation of other artists' written instructions, has been presented at The Galleries At Moore (20th St. and the Parkway). Featuring objects, installations, performances and more from over 70 artist instructions, the exhibit takes DIY to a whole new level.

On Friday, Nov. 21, Moore College of Art and Design hosts a Philadelphia "do it" publication launch featuring new instructions from 27 Philadelphia-based artists, including Joy Feasley, Mark Stockton, Preston Link, Tim Belknap, Cindy Stockton-Moore, Anna Neighbor, James Johnson and more.

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the artists will read and perform their own instructions in addition to local band RATKICKER's music video debut — which happens to be a full-album cinematic interpretation of artist Meg Cranston's instruction "The Most Horrific Tale."

"do it" is on view through Saturday, Dec. 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
