Rank and File: Union vs. San Jose Earthquakes

Here are your player ratings from Saturday's game.

Here are your player ratings from Saturday's game.

Goalkeeper

Faryd Mondragón: 8.07
- "I don't want to overstate how awesome Mondragón is, so I'll simply observe that he celebrated the win by proceeding to go out and kill Osama bin Laden." (Fake Peter Nowak)

Defenders

 Danny Califf: 7.21
- "Redeamed himself against Steven Lenhart (who must be working on his Scott Hartnell impersonation), who scored twice against Union last year when with Columbus." (Nick Youngstein)

Jordan Harvey: 5.42
- "Gets a higher rating than normal, not for his good playing ability, but for the fact he is now the Patron Saint of Unwarranted Red Cards." (Dan Kenworthy)

Carlos Valdés: 7.35
- "Carlos Valdés is pretty much the entire reason the Union have 4 shutout wins this year.  Not to discount Mondragon at all but Valdes has been solid, and Saturday was another great performance." (Dave Q.)

Sheanon Williams: 6.71
- "Not his best game offensively, but again, the defense held strong despite their forced reorganization." (Nick Youngstein)

Midfielders

 Keon Daniel: 7.50
- "If you are wondering how the Union had so many pushes in the second half look no further. After he moved to the left side, he had to work through 2 Quakes multiple times and succeeded in setting plays up. Was smarted then the average SOB and passed on a scoring chance so that the team could kill 30 more precious seconds at the end." (Peter Olmsted)

Michael Farfan: 6.57
- "I know it was one game, but who knew we actually had an option at defense. Farfan had a great game with multiple runs up the left flank and some great touches. Good to know, since he most likely will have his first start next week in Timber country." (Peter Olmsted)

Stefani Miglioranzi: 5.82
- "Did the defensive dirty work in the second half. Typical Migs: not great, not terrible." (Nick Youngstein)

Kyle Nakazawa: 5.75
- "Did OK for his 2nd half sub work, didn't look comfortable with the gameplan of holding the 1-goal-lead a man down." (Nick Youngstein

Amobi Okugo: 7.21
- "Okugo was a force on both defense and offense at the end." (Hollanri)

Roger Torres: 5.43
- "I love Torres, but he is much more effective as a sub." (Jared R.)

Forwards

Sebastien Le Toux: 7.29
- "After he scored his first goal he ran faster. I honestly didn't think that was possible." (Jared R.)

Danny Mwanga: 5.71
- "Despite the attack-minded lineup, he did not get involved at all. I expected more."

Carlos Ruiz: 6.14
- "Showed some additional improvement in his game with being a step infront of a couple of the through balls to him.  He has a lot more hustle than previous games, and I think he's starting to click with the team." (Dan Kenworthy)
