MLS, CONCACAF roundup: Thierry Henry golazo vs. Kansas City steals spotlight

Here we go again with our regular Monday morning look back at everything you might have missed over the weekend in Major League Soccer.

If you missed the Union's very impressive 2-0 win over Toronto FC, the highlights are here. It was the talk of MLS on Saturday afternoon, and probably would still the league's biggest headline this morning were it not for a heavenly goal by New York's Thierry Henry. The French legend has scored many great goals in his time with the Red Bulls, but this was one of his all-time best. You can see it below.

And you might like to know that Henry and company will be at PPL Park this coming Saturday to face the Union (3:00 p.m., NBCSN). With both teams in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race, it has the potential to be quite an encounter.

There were theatrics in the CONCACAF Copa Centroamericana too, as the Cotton Bowl in Dallas hosted a tripleheader of group stage games. Costa Rica was down 2-0 to Panama late, but scored twice in the last 10 minutes and saved a (very cheap) penalty kick to salvage a 2-2 draw.

If Panama had held on, they would have qualified for the championship game, and would thus have been one more win away from a berth in the glamorous 2016 Copa América Centenario. Now los Canaleros must beat Nicaragua by at least three goals in the group stage finale to knock los Ticos out.
