WWE Night of Champions 2015: Match-by-match predictions for the show

Night of Champions is typically just another night on the WWE calendar, but this year's edition of the event carries with it some extra intrigue.

You have one man defending two championships, one of which against a legend. You have a legendary tag team looking to ascend to the top of the division once again.

You have a women's division that is looking to cement its spot as a revolution. Also, you have a Money in the Bank briefcase floating around out there.

With that being said, here are my predictions for Night of Champions, which will emanate from the Toyota Center in Houston:

WWE World Heavyweight championship – Seth Rollins (c) vs. Sting

There are a lot of different directions WWE could go with this match, none of which are necessarily ideal.

First, you could have Rollins simply retain his title, but that would give Sting yet another loss at a major event.

Or you could have Sting win his first WWE championship, but he's 56 years old and he'd be taking it off a man that could certainly use the rub.

Lastly, you could have neither man walk out with the championship, as Sheamus could cash in his Money in the Bank contract and slither away with the title. The problem with that is Sheamus has no momentum at the moment and I'm not sure if anyone really cares to see him with the top title in the industry.

If you're WWE, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

However, I still have to give a prediction and that is for Rollins to somehow retain his WWE World Heavyweight championship. I have no idea how that happens, but he will find a way to hold on to that title.

I just don't see any reason to end Rollins' reign at this juncture.

Prediction: Rollins RETAINS the WWE World Heavyweight championship

WWE United States championship – Seth Rollins (c) vs. John Cena

This match is a bit more cut and dry in my opinion.

To me, Cena can simply do more with the United States title than Rollins can. While Cena can bring back the popular U.S. Open challenges, Rollins would just simply have the title without much fanfare.

Plus, Jon Stewart isn't lurking around anywhere so there shouldn't be anything preventing Cena from finishing the job and defeating Rollins.

Prediction: Cena WINS the United States championship

WWE Tag Team championship – The New Day (c) vs. The Dudley Boyz

The New Day is on a roll and it is not time to end their title reign just yet. The Dudley Boyz will return to their throne at some point, but not on this night.

Expect the New Day to retain.

Prediction: New Day rocks, I mean RETAIN the WWE Tag Team championship

WWE Divas championship – Nikki Bella (c) vs. Charlotte

I know everyone wanted nothing more than for Nikki Bella to fall short of AJ Lee's precious record, but that's over and done with now. She has the record and there's nothing anyone can do about it at this point.

Moving forward, however, her reign should be soon coming to an end, as it is time for the shift in the Divas division to begin by putting the title on Charlotte. I believe this shift will take place at Night of Champions.

Hopefully, WWE can shift away from that hideous Divas championship title belt as well.

Prediction: Charlotte WINS the WWE Divas championship

WWE Intercontinental championship – Ryback (c) vs. Kevin Owens

I know fans have been less than impressed with Ryback's run with the Intercontinental title, but that's not solely his fault. The big guy hasn't had much to work with during his short reign, which is the fault of WWE, not him.

However, I do agree with the sentiment that it is time for Owens to take the title away from him.

Giving Owens the title gives him something to brag about and gives him something to do besides merely being an afterthought on Raw every week.

Prediction: Owens WINS the WWE Intercontinental championship

The Wyatt Family vs. Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose & ???

Your guess is as good as mine when it comes to the identity of the mystery partner. I just hope that it is not Erick Rowan.

However, there's no sense in having a mystery partner if the team he's on is going to lose so I'm going with Reigns, Ambrose and whomever their partner is to win.

Prediction: Reigns, Ambrose & ??? def. The Wyatt Family

Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev

I guess Ryback wins since Ziggler has gotten the better of him the last couple of weeks.

Quite frankly, I'm just waiting for this story to end.

Prediction: Rusev def. Ziggler

Kickoff match: Neville & Lucha Dragons vs. Cosmic Wasteland

Since Neville has beaten Stardust 17,000 times, I'm going to go with Cosmic Wasteland to pick up its first big victory as unit.

Prediction: Cosmic Wasteland def. Neville & Lucha Dragons
