WWE Money in the Bank 2014: Last-minute predictions for the show

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match – John Cena vs. Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Cesaro vs. Sheamus vs. Randy Orton vs. Kane vs. Alberto Del Rio

There are a lot of options here, so let's go about this with the process of elimination.

First, let's go through the people who I think have a slim chance of winning: Sheamus, Randy Orton, Kane and Alberto Del Rio. Now, that knocks it down to four people.

The one major thing against Sheamus, besides the fact that he wouldn't make for a good champion at this point, is that he's already the United States Champion. I highly doubt the WWE is going to make him a double champion. It's not common practice in WWE. Not to mention, it would be hell for him to try to get three belts through airport security on a regular basis, but I digress.

The thing against Orton is that he's had a run with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship recently and it wasn't very eventful. The biggest night of his title reign was the night he lost it to Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania. Other than that, Orton was essentially fourth or fifth in the pecking order on television. Sometimes, I legitimately forgot that he was the champion. I can't be the only one, right? Am I right?

Is that all of his fault? Not necessarily, but it has to be held against him in some respect.

As for Kane, well, he's Kane. Although he can still perform at a pretty good level, he's clearly well past his prime and I don't think I would be able to stomach Michael Cole and others calling him the demon Kane as champion. The WWE mentions it maybe once a show at this point and I already hate it. When the WWE wants to beat you over the head with something, it is efficient.

What's working against Del Rio? Well, when you've spent the last six months toiling in the mid-card, you don't necessarily become a prime candidate to become the top guy in a matter of weeks.

Now we're down to Cena, Wyatt, Reigns and Cesaro. Let me say this, I can see all four of these guys walking out as the champion, but using the process of elimination again, I don't think Cesaro or Reigns will win.

Reigns is great, but I'm not sure you put the title on him just yet, especially if there is a title defense against Brock Lesnar right around the corner where he would almost assuredly lose. The same goes for Cesaro. I don't think it would behoove Reigns or Cesaro or the WWE for that matter to rocket either man to the top and knock them back down so quickly. Take your time and let things build. There's no need to rush.

That now leaves Cena and Wyatt. If the reports were true that Cena is penciled in to face Lesnar at Summerslam, you would think it would be best served as a title match, which means he would have to win here.

But to paraphrase Jim Ross, the strongest hold in the wrestling business is the eraser. What does that mean? Just because something is penciled in, doesn't mean it can't be erased at some point. Does that mean it's going to happen here? I wouldn't think so, but it's the wrestling business and stranger things have happened.

Plus, picking Cena would be such an obvious thing to do. You can pick Cena in literally every match he has and you have a very good chance of being right. But I'm a daring young man, which means I'm going with Wyatt.

I think he is ready to have a run with the title, and with Luke Harper and Erick Rowan winning the tag titles on this show as well (SPOILER), I think it would be nice to have The Wyatt Family draped in gold for a little bit. I do not foresee a Wyatt-Lesnar match in the near future, but I could see a Wyatt-Bryan match at some point where Bryan gets the title back.

Prediction: Bray Wyatt WINS the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Money in the Bank Ladder Match – Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Bad News Barrett vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Jack Swagger

Let's use the process of elimination for this one as well. No, Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger or Rob Van Dam will not win the briefcase.

Why? Kingston has been a jobber for more than a year. Swagger has won the briefcase before and quite frankly isn't worthy at this point. Not to mention, he just hurt Barrett's shoulder. You're not going to be rewarded for that.

Van Dam's role in the WWE isn't to win titles at this point. He's there to add some name recognition to the mid-card and to elevate the younger talent. He's also another former Money in the Bank winner.

That now leaves Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler and Bad News Barrett. I'm going to eliminate Ziggler simply because the WWE has shown no signs of truly elevating this guy no matter how much the fans love him. Plus, he's won it before as well. It didn't work out so well for him before.

Rollins and Ambrose look like prime candidates to win the briefcase, but it looks like they are going to cancel each other out due to the fact they are in such a heated rivalry right now. I can definitely see them eliminating each other at some point, which would leave Barrett as the most logical choice to carry the briefcase.

Why? He hasn't won it before and his character has gotten over so much that he's earned the spot. Being Intercontinental Champion doesn't matter because he can lose it at some point anyway.

The only problem is that this all hinges on whether Barrett will be able to compete in the match after separating his shoulder Tuesday. As of this writing, there has been no official word on his status for the event.

If he is ready to go, he is my pick. If not, I'll go with Rollins. With six other people in the match, I believe there's a way to protect Barrett from further injury and still have him compete and win.

Prediction: Bad News Barrett WINS the Money in the Bank contract

WWE Tag Team Championship – The Usos (c) vs. The Wyatt Family (Luke Harper & Erick Rowan)

I kind of gave this away earlier, but I'm picking the Wyatts to walk away as the champions in this one.

As much as I love The Usos, but I think their title reign has run its course. It's a shame, too. As soon as they won the titles, the WWE inexplicably dismantled the tag team division, which gave them no credible opponents.

However, the Wyatts are very credible and should be the new tag team champions. I think they could carry those belts for a long time as well.

Prediction: They Wyatt Family WINS the WWE Tag Team Championship

WWE Divas Championship – Paige (c) vs. Naomi

Poor Naomi. She was on the fast track to being Divas Champion before her gruesome eye injury. Now, she's probably going to lose to Paige due to some type of interference from Cameron.

I think Paige is talented, but the WWE hasn't given her a whole for me to get behind besides the fact that she's champion at such a young age, making her title reign uneventful.

I think Naomi is ready to hold the title, but the WWE has made it so obvious that Cameron is going to turn on her that it's borderline silly. I mean, Cameron made it blatantly obvious that she doesn't like Naomi anymore and gave away what's supposed to be a surprise in the process.

Prediction: Paige RETAINS the Divas Championship

Goldust & Stardust vs. RybAxel (Ryback & Curtis Axel)

Goldust and Stardust have been beating RybAxel at every live event leading up to this show, which leads to me believe that's going to be the outcome Sunday.

Plus, the WWE wouldn't book the newly christened Stardust to lose so quickly on a big stage.

Prediction: Goldust and Stardust def. RybAxel

Big E vs. Rusev

Just like the previous match, Rusev has been beating Big E at house shows, so I believe it's going to happen here as well.

Plus, it's not time to topple Rusev just yet. He's being built the right way, in my opinion and has earned credibility with the fans as a legit tough guy. There's no need to kill that momentum just yet. Sorry, Big E.

Prediction: Rusev def. Big E

Summer Rae vs. Layla (Fandango is special guest referee)

This feud is so confusing. Who is the heel? Who is the babyface? I have no idea. Both of these women have been painted as both over the last couple of weeks. Now we have Fandango as the special guest referee, which means he will have save some say in whom wins the match.

Quite frankly, I could care less who wins, so I'm going to toss a coin. If it's heads I'm going with Summer Rae. If it's tails, I'm going with Layla.

(Tosses coin)

The coin came up heads, which means I'm going with Rae.

Prediction: Summer Rae def. Layla
