WWE Monday Night Raw results and observations (04/27/15)

Green Bay, Wisc. Resch Center

Typically, the Raw after a pay-per-view is an eventful show, but that wasn't the case Monday at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisc.

Outside of the King of the Ring tournament returning, not much happened over the course of the three hours I, along with many others, spent watching the program.

The show happened, and that's about it.

Before I delve any deeper into my observations and highlights, here's a look at the full match results from the show:

- King of the Ring (First round) – Bad News Barrett def. Dolph Ziggler

- Big E def. Tyson Kidd

- Ryback def. Bo Dallas

- King of the Ring (First round) – R-Truth def. Stardust

- Adam Rose def. Fandango

- Naomi def. Brie Bella

- King of the Ring (First round) – Sheamus def. Dean Ambrose via disqualification

- King of the Ring (First round) – Neville def. Luke Harper

- Randy Orton & Roman Reigns def. Seth Rollins & Kane

Now, let's jump into my observations:

Triple threat match set for WWE world title match

Per a vote on the WWE App, Seth Rollins will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat match against Randy Orton and Roman Reigns at Payback.

Although both Orton and Reigns both of a score to settle with Rollins, I wish they could have done more to earn this particular shot at the title than for to be voted on in the app.

While the match itself makes sense, I'm not confident that the WWE will tell a good story between now and Payback and I'm almost certain that there will be even more the shenanigans during the match itself, especially from Kane.

The craziest thing about this entire program is that Kane has taken center stage and has looked so dominant that I think that he should be in the title picture.

I know, Kane in a title match in 2015 makes me shudder, too, but with the way WWE has put him front and center in this story why the hell not?

King of the Ring returns

Ah, did I long for the days of the King of the Ring and it felt oh so good to have it back on WWE television again Monday night.

I don't know why the WWE has shied away from tournaments over the last decade, but there is a lot of money in them. Just ask the NCAA. People just like tournaments. We like brackets. It's an obsession for some.

But the King of the Ring is not just a cool tournament. It's also a way to get someone over upon winning the tournament. Just ask Steve Austin.

As for Monday night, the man that probably benefitted the most was probably Neville. He looked great once again during his match against Luke Harper and is someone I'm predicting to advance to the finals.

I wasn't fond of disqualification during the Sheamus-Dean Ambrose, but with it being within the context of the Sheamus-Dolph Ziggler story, I couldn't hate the finish too much.

When the dust settles Tuesday night, I believe Bad News Barrett will be crowned king after defeating Neville in the finals.

Bray Wyatt attacks Ryback

Bray Wyatt finally revealed his target, and it turned out to be Ryback.

To be quite frank, my expectations are not very high for this program. I like both talents involved, but neither guy is all that fantastic in the ring. They're good, but not great. Plus, I'm not sure how their particular styles would mesh.

Even on promos they have two distinctly different styles. Wyatt is methodical and cryptic whereas Ryback just usually yells three words.

Also, I've been waiting for Bo Dallas to ditch his current persona and join his brother in hopefully a new version of the Wyatt family, except this time Wyatt will actually have his real family member by his side.. Maybe we'll get this in the future, but we have yet to see it.

More dissention between Rusev, Lana

Every time I see Rusev and Lana fight, I feel like a child watching his/her parents bicker back and forth. It just hurts me to see.

It's not because I'm a big kid, but rather because Rusev and Lana are so good together and I would hate to see them split up, especially after losing to Cena.

Unfortunately, that's the way it's looking.

Damien Sandow becomes himself again … sort of

Damien Mizdow has officially gone back to his old name of Damien Sandow, but he's still impersonating people apparently.

That's what he did Monday night when Curtis Axel interrupted his promo. Every time Axel said or did something, Sandow copied him. It was more annoying than entertaining because Sandow should move on to something completely different.

The segment he was involved in Monday left me confused more than anything else on this show. I still don't know what it's purpose had.
