TNA Bound For Glory to take place in Tokyo, Japan

TNA's marquee event, Bound For Glory, will emanate from the other side of the world, the promotion announced Wednesday before its television tapings in New York City.

TNA President Dixie Carter and Japanese wrestling legend The Great Muta announced during a press conference at the Manhattan Center that the 10th edition of Bound For Glory will take place all the way in Tokyo, Japan at Korakeun Hall.

The event is scheduled to take place Oct. 12, 2014. Korakeun Hall is considered one of the most famous wrestling venues in Japan, as numerous wrestling promotions have run major shows in its confines.

That wasn't the only thing that took place Wednesday in the world of TNA. As mentioned earlier, TNA began its series of television tapings in New York and re-introduced the six-sided ring. Although it is unique TNA, the promotion's wrestlers, specifically Austin Aries, has spoken out against the return of the six-sided ring, citing that it's less giving to the performers' bodies.

For those curious, I find #6sides to be far less forgiving on the body and harder to maneuver around, especially on the top rope. #4sides

Also of note, was that former WWE announcer Josh Matthews was apparently backstage during the tapings, according to PWInsider.com. Matthews was reportedly released by the WWE within the last couple of days.
