Shinsuke Nakamura is headed to NXT

After weeks and weeks of speculation, it was officially announced Wednesday that former IWGP Heavyweight champion Shinsuke Nakamura is headed to WWE.

However, he will not be headed straight to the main roster. Instead, he will debut in NXT at NXT Takeover: Dallas on April 1.

NXT general manager William Regal announced during television tapings Wednesday that the self-proclaimed King of Strong style is indeed NXT bound.

Nakamura will enter NXT as one of the most decorated wrestlers in Japanese wrestling history, having won the prestigious IWGP Heavyweight title three times and the IWGP Intercontinental title five times.

His in-ring prowess combined with his flamboyant persona made him mainstream star in his native Japan.
