WWE officially announces Randy 'Macho Man' Savage's induction into WWE Hall of Fame

The WWE made it official during Monday's episode of Raw that Randy "Macho Man" Savage will take his rightful place into the WWE Hall of Fame. The company also offically announced that one of his chief rivals, Hulk Hogan, will induct him into the Hall.

Savage was an integral part of the WWE's rise to national prominence during the 1980s, as he captivated audiences with his showmanship and unmistakable voice and catchphrases.

Savage wasn't all just bells and whistles, however, as he is considered with the greatest in-ring performers to ever lace up their boots.

Combining his athleticism from his baseball background with a ferocious competitive nature, Savage dazzled fans in matches with the likes of Hogan, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and The Ultimate Warrior.

But for reasons that still aren't quite clear until this day, Savage has not been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, despite having multiple world titles to his credit and a lasting impact on those in and out of the wrestling industry.

Savage passed away in 2011 after suffering a heart attack while driving with his wife.
