NXT television report (06/22/16): No Way, Austin Aries!

It was business as usual for NXT, as it presented another solid episode of television on the WWE Network Wednesday night.

The biggest development from this week's show was the budding feud between Austin Aries and No Way Jose.

Aries was backstage doing an interview when No Way Jose interrupted him that he needs to stop being so angry and remember why he is in the wrestling business.

After No Way Jose's victory over a man named Josh Woods, Aries went to the ring and thanked No Way Jose for reminding him that he needs to have more fun while in the ring. The two then began dancing around Full Sail and eventually made their way to the announce table. Both men climbed up, but Aries knocked No Way Jose off the table with a forearm. He then commenced to beat the daylights out of him.

At first glance, Aries being involved in a feud with No Way Jose seems like an odd pairing. Aries is a veteran that has wrestled all over the world while No Way Jose is essentially just beginning his journey in the business.

However, this could be good for both men. If Austin defeats No Way Jose, it gets him back on track to being a main attraction within the promotion. Regardless of the outcomes of the matches, the chance to work with someone as seasoned as Aries is a major help for No Way Jose.

As they say, the only way you can become better in wrestling is by working with someone that is better than you. Working with Aries is a great way for No Way Jose to improve in and out of the ring.

The only other competitive match on the show was Oney Lorcan (formerly Chris Girard and Biff Busick) defeating Tye Dillinger. Lorcan's name is awful, as it sounds like an alien species in a science fiction universe.

But this match was really more about Dillinger continuing his losing streak. It looks like NXT is slowly moving him away from his perfect-10 persona and into a more serious character. Time will ultimately tell.

The main event was a surprising matchup between Shinsuke Nakamura and Buddy Murphy. This match was all about Nakamura, as he got a tune up for his upcoming encounter with Finn Balor, which general manager William Regal announced during the show will take place in three weeks.

And finally, Bayley returned to action with a victory over Deonna Purrazzo.

Here are the full match results:

- Oney Lorcan def. Tye Dillinger

- No Way Jose def. Josh Woods

- Bayley def. Deonna Purrazzo

- Nia Jax def. Liv Morgan

- Shinsuke Nakamura def. Buddy Murphy
