Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones to appear on TNA Impact
Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones is back in the news, but it has nothing to do with football or, fortunately, nothing to do with some type of legal transgression.
Jones will be making an appearance on TNA Impact Wrestling Thursday when the show will be live from Cincinnati, the promotion announced Wednesday.
TNA president Dixie Carter said out a video on the promotion's YouTube channel that a former world titleholder would be appearing on the next edition of Impact.
It turns out she kept her word, as believe it or not, Jones is a former TNA World Tag Team champion.
Jones won the TNA tag titles at Bound For Glory 2007 when he formed Team Pacman, which consisted of Ron Killings and Consequences Creed (now R-Truth and Xavier Woods in WWE respectively) to defeat AJ Styles and Tomko.
Jones never actually participated in the match, as he was not allowed to per his former team, the Tennessee Titans.
Since then, Jones put wrestling way on the backburner — until now. He's already taken part in a short vignette with TNA's Joseph Park, as he lends some advice on how Park can get tougher in the ring.
As far as what Jones will be doing Thursday has not been determined. I can almost assure everyone reading this that he will not wrestle in any way, shape or form. He is a key cog in the Bengals defense and I would doubt they would allow anyone to even lay a finger on him.
Add to that is the fact that the Bengals have a big divisional game Sunday against the Ravens.
The Titans didn't allow him to wrestle back in 2007 and he was in the middle of a season-long suspension when the match took place.
TNA Impact will air on Spike TV at 9 p.m. Thursday.
