AJ Styles' future with TNA still up in the air; WWE shows little interest

TNA have let the contracts of major stars within the promotion expire before and it may happen again with A.J. Styles.

The current No. 1 contender to the TNA World Heavyweight title and TNA mainstay's contract is set to expire in December, according to SEScoops.com.

Two months before Styles' contract is set to expire, he will be in the main event of TNA's biggest pay-per-view of the year, Bound for Glory, against TNA champion Bully Ray.

If Styles' contract indeed expires without renewal, do not expect him to pop up on WWE television after that.

SEScoops.com also reports that WWE has very little interest in the TNA star.

"One person in-the-know in WWE went as far as saying there is 'far less interest in AJ from the WWE side than a normal, rational person would think,'" the report says.

Styles being 36 years old does not make him a hot commodity to the WWE, who is looking to go after younger prospective talent.

If Styles wins the TNA World title at Bound for Glory, which he is expected to do, it will be interesting to see how TNA handles his contract situation and if it will affect his status on television and with the title belt.
