Zahav sous chef opening pho restaurant in Fishtown

Stock is being planned at 308 E. Girard Ave., most recently an ice cream shop.

Tyler Akin is a sous chef at Zahav, and Nicole Reigle is a server.

This weekend, the crazy kids are getting married.

And next month, they'll go in front of the Fishtown Neighbors with plans for Stock, the pho-based restaurant they're planning at 308 E. Girard Ave., most recently an ice cream shop.

Akin arrived at Zahav last year after time at D.C.'s Komi  and Little Serow. What truly inspired him was a long trip through Southeast Asia, including Vietnam.

With Reigele working the front of the house (20 seats, plus outdoor) and Akin in the kitchen, they are aiming for a small menu. Besides pho, they'll offer chicken wings, banh mi, salads, and a vegan mushroom soup  he has been developing for a year.

Stock is expected to be open Thursday to Monday for dinner, with both lunch and dinner offered on weekends.

Target debut is January.
