For 17 years, customers have been asking Marc Vetri and Jeff Benjamin to open for lunch at Vetri, their posh flagship at 1312 Spruce St.
They've caved, though in a small way.
Vetri is planning to offer lunch on the first Friday of the month (May 6, June 3, and July 1 so far), in the main dining room. Seatings start at 11:30 a.m. and wrap at 1 p.m.
The four-course meal is $85 a person plus tax, tip, and alcohol - which ranks it way up there in terms of lunchtime tariffs in the city. (Tables must be reserved; at 30 seats, the room most likely will book quickly.)
Guests get two options for antipasti, pasta, entree, and dessert.
Pressed for specifics, Vetri said the menu would be similar to the nighttime menu and would include the signature crepe and gnocchi.
