Spice End: Late-night Indian option on South St.

Spice End's signature kati rolls (skewered meat wrapped in paratha bread) will be served alongside a menu including Indo-Chinese dishes, says Patel, including "chicken 65," gobi Manuchurian, and paneer chilli.

Thursday, Aug. 18 is the soft-launch of the South Street location of Spice End, the Indian cafe that civil engineer Meet Patel founded in spring 2013 at 2004 Chestnut St., followed by a food truck at Drexel University.

Spice End has the southeast corner of Seventh and South Streets, last occupied by Dickey's BBQ.

In addition to Spice End's signature kati rolls (skewered meat wrapped in paratha bread), the menu includes nearly a half-dozen Indo-Chinese dishes, says Patel, including "chicken 65," gobi Manuchurian, and paneer chilli.

Takeout and delivery are the focus, though there are a couple of high-top tables.

Hours are being worked out. Patel is starting with noon to midnight during the week (though it may close earlier in the very beginning). Starting the weekend of Aug. 26-27, Patel expects to keep the doors open till 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
