Restaurant notes: Old Django spot gets new life; Little Fish returns

The Fourth Street storefront will see 5 N 2 Tokyo.

A couple of Queen Villagers:

  1. The former Django space at 526 S. Fourth St. will see new life next month as the curiously named 5 N 2 Tokyo, an Asian fusion BYO from first-time restaurateurs Estephany Li and Hou Cai Yang. Li says the vibe will be casual at lunchtime, "more elegant" at dinnertime. And the numbers in the name are from the Bible. Li explains that it's to praise Jesus for the miracle of the five loaves and two fish.

  2. Mike Stollenwerk has revived Little Fish at 746 S. Sixth St. in Queen Village, where Salt & Pepper was before its move to East Passyunk. Chef de cuisine Chadd Jenkins is turning out innovative seafood nightly from 5:30 p.m. at the 28-seat BYOB, whose entrees average $30. (Examples: sturgeon with pork belly, gigande beans, jicima, carrot-habanero broth; golden spot tilefish with rock shrimp and grits, tomato consommé, andouille, and pepper salad; black cod with soy beans, maitake mushroom, sunchoke, and sea urchin; striped bass, braised romaine, and bagna cauda. This time, it takes credit cards and cash; phone is 267-455-0172.
